Actively hiring Posted about 8 hours ago

Role overview

Mycronic is a global high-tech company whose innovative solutions have been advancing electronics technology for over 40 years. Today we continue to grow and serve customers in an expanding variety of industries. What we do impacts the future of technology, and in turn, the way we live our lives tomorrow. We’re looking for people to join our talented, motivated and friendly team on the cutting-edge. Here, in an open, collaborative and flexible environment, you’ll work alongside leading industry experts and take on challenging projects that bring tomorrow’s electronics to life.

At this moment there is no other company in the world that can compete with Mycronic's mask writers. All displays you see, whether it is your TV, laptop screen, smart watch, or infotainment screen in your car, are manufactured with the use of Mycronic's machines. The same technology is also used in the semiconductor industry. The process for manufacturing happens at a nanometer level, smaller than blood cells and viruses. For all of this to be possible, a great emphasis is put on the quality of software and hardware.

This student summer work "Understanding and Evaluating Machine Learning Models Performance for Image Generation" aims to better analyze, evaluate, and interpret how machine learning models perform in image generation tasks.

The baseline model will be tested on both real and simulated datasets to comprehensively evaluate its robustness and generalization performance.

By integrating physical knowledge into the ML-based image generation, the project seeks to make the models transparent, interpretable, and consistent with known physical behavior.

What we're looking for

  • Familiarity with Fourier optics or physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) .
  • Experience with model visualization , attribution techniques , or uncertainty quantification . Ability to communicate technical insights effectively to both ML and physics-focused audiences.
