Role overview
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Zepz, you will occupy the critical intersection of research and engineering within our FinCrime (Financial Crime) team. You aren’t just building models in a notebook; you are architecting the logic and the delivery systems that protect our customers.
You will lead the charge in identifying trends for fraud detection and then take those ideas all the way through to a production-ready state. This role is perfect for a scientist who loves to code and an engineer who loves the "why" behind the data.
What you'll work on
- End-to-End Model Ownership: Lead the full lifecycle of fraud detection models—from initial hypothesis and feature engineering to deploying the live API and setting up automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Hybrid Logic Design: Design models while simultaneously building the infrastructure to ensure they scale and handle real-time data.
- Automation & Drift Detection: Own the "Ops" side of your models, ensuring they are documented, tested, and monitored for performance decay or model drift in production.
- Cross-Functional Translation: Act as the technical bridge between Backend Engineers and the broader Data Science team to integrate ML solutions into our core product.
- Strategic Experiments: Conduct high-impact experiments to evaluate new data sources and modeling techniques, ensuring every technical choice has a clear commercial outcome.
What we're looking for
- Experience with cloud-native ML deployment.
- Previous experience in FinTech, Fraud, or Risk domains.
- A "tenacious" attitude—you enjoy the challenge of debugging a production pipeline as much as tuning a hyperparameter.
