- Develop and maintain predictive models, statistical analyses, and forecasting methodologies to assess current and future COMSATCOM demand, utilization, and operational risk.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques, including regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and other machine learning methods, to identify trends, drivers, and decision-relevant insights.
- Design and implement reproducible analytic workflows, data pipelines, and model validation processes to ensure transparency, traceability, and repeatability of analytic products.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data quality assessments to evaluate completeness, consistency, bias, and statistical significance in support of leadership decisions.
- Translate complex operational and business questions into analytical approaches, models, simulations, and decision-support tools for USSF CSCO leadership and mission partners.
- Create clear, executive-level visualizations, dashboards, and briefings that communicate complex technical findings to senior stakeholders in an understandable and actionable manner.
- Maintain awareness of global, regional, and situational trends affecting SATCOM and COMSATCOM demand, and incorporate those factors into forecasts, scenario analyses, and strategic assessments.
- Support analytic studies led by COMSATCOM Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including cost analyses, business case analyses, market research, commercial capability assessments, and courses of action comparisons.
- Collaborate with USSF program offices, operators, engineers, financial managers, acquisition personnel, and commercial providers to align data science solutions with mission and business needs.
- Pull, normalize, and analyze data from multiple systems and formats, including databases, spreadsheets, collaboration tools, and reporting platforms.
- Develop metrics, analytical frameworks, and model-based decision aids to support planning, portfolio management, and leadership data calls with speed, accuracy, and traceability.
- Provide technical leadership on data science best practices, analytic rigor, and model governance, including assumptions documentation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Respond to ad hoc analytic taskings from senior leadership with timely, defensible, and mission-relevant analyses.
