Role overview
Our client uses an SMS platform to connect food insecure people to nearby restaurants, where they can pick up meals. They are looking for a full-stack engineer to help migrate from our no-code, duct-tape and glue platform to a maintainable, modular, in-house system.
Additionally, they will be running an innovation process in Denver to identify prototypes and eventually develop new products and services that help address food insecurity.
Responsibilities
- JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)
- LOCATION: Remote - United States and Canada only (TimeZone: EST | Partial overlap)
- HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $120 – $160/hr
- ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Long-term
Basic qualifications
Ruby on Rails / Django: essentially a batteries included, stable, widely utilized web framework.
SQL: some of our no-code tools utilize SQL. You’ll learn it quickly.
Javascript: plain old standard JS, not SPA/React
Preferred qualifications
- Migrating off Airtable to Rails/Django/etc.
- Standardization and centralization of no-code services
- Building a more robust matching algorithm for matching food insecure folks to meals.
