Role overview
As a Junior Research Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of machine learning, research and software engineering, helping to solve real business and technical challenges at Allegro.
You’ll use modern ML models and algorithms to design, build, and improve solutions that directly impact how millions of customers search and shop. This role combines hands-on development with research work - from exploring the latest findings in the literature to turning them into practical, production-ready solutions aligned with business needs.
You’ll play a key role in the AI-powered search initiative, contributing to the development of the AI Assistant - one of Allegro’s strategic products.

What we're looking for
- Experience with training or fine-tuning LLMs.
- Familiarity with key stages of the search pipeline.
- Experience with Agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph), building autonomous agents.
- Familiarity with e-commerce data.
- Prior experience running large-scale computations on cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
- Contributions to open-source projects or publications in relevant conferences/journals.
