Role overview
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an IT Software Engineer 4 (MLOps Engineer). The work will be done hybrid, with onsite expectations 2–3 days per week at the client’s Chicago, IL office (540 W Madison). This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $92/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced MLOps Engineer to support the design, development, and operation of a scalable enterprise MLOps platform. This role focuses on enabling the full lifecycle of machine learning models—from development through production—by building cloud-based pipelines, tooling, and deployment frameworks. The engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and Agile teams to improve platform adoption, reliability, and usability. This position is ideal for someone passionate about operationalizing AI/ML solutions at scale.
What we're looking for
Design scalable, secure architectures for building and deploying production ML applications
Build and maintain MLOps pipelines, frameworks, and self-service development tooling
Enable and support internal users of the ML platform through troubleshooting and documentation
Implement CI/CD practices, containerization, deployment, versioning, and monitoring
Automate testing, validation, and deployment of machine learning models
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience
8+ years of experience with object-oriented programming (Python, Java, Go, C/C++, etc.)
Strong experience with MLOps frameworks such as MLflow or Kubeflow
Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL
Experience building cloud-based MLOps solutions (AWS preferred)
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and tools such as Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
Experience with model inference systems and advanced deployment methods
Familiarity with tools such as Seldon, Helm, Terraform, or CloudFormation
Exposure to observability and monitoring tools for ML systems
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute without close supervision
