Role overview
As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Generative AI team, you will be responsible for building and supporting enterprise-grade applications that leverage emerging technologies, including Generative AI, to create process efficiencies and deliver business value. You will own complex technical components, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers while continuously learning and growing toward leadership roles.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade applications using best practices.
- Own technical components and ensure maintainability, quality, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with product, data science, and operations teams to deliver AI-driven solutions.
- Create effective automated tests and ensure high test coverage.
- Break down high-level requirements into small, testable, releasable components.
- Provide support for critical applications running in production, including troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and proactively suggest improvements.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and fun team environment.
- 7+ years’ experience in software development with strong full-stack and DevOps skills.
- Proficiency in Git, Python & Python packaging (pip, Poetry, virtual environments) and Front-End technologies, particularly React.js.
- Experience with Azure Cloud and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
- Experience with REST APIs, authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Database expertise (SQL, ORMs, Postgres, MySQL; relational and non-relational).
- Understanding of software development security fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Azure AI services and Generative AI (LLMs).
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Linux administration and scripting (e.g., Bash).
- Microsoft Copilot and related AI productivity tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications on time and within budget.
- Positive feedback from team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex technical components and mentorship contributions.
- Continuous improvement in code quality, test coverage, and system reliability.
