Hyper is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead our backend development efforts. We're seeking someone with a solid foundation in Python and an ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies. As the first dedicated backend engineer, you will have the opportunity to shape the architecture and technology stack that powers our platform.

About the role

💻 Develop, test, and deploy our backend services, currently powered by Django Rest Framework, Postgres, JavaScript, and Websockets.

🔧 Manage the backend for not just our machine learning services and avatar tools but also our core API.

🔄 Collaborate closely with our design, machine learning, client, and product teams to align backend services with company needs.

🔍 Continuously optimize our systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

🎓 6+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with extensive knowledge of Python.

💼 Familiarity with our tech stack: Django Rest Framework, Postgres, JavaScript, and Websockets. If you don't know these yet, you should be eager and able to learn quickly.

🗂️ A public online portfolio showcasing your software engineering projects.

💡 Interest in, or experience with, AI and avatars.

📝 Exceptional written communication skills, given our fully remote team.
