You & your role
As a Senior Data Scientist – Business Lending, you will strengthen our advanced analytics and AI capabilities within Business Lending. You will play a key role in designing, improving, and governing lending decision processes by translating business needs and regulatory requirements into robust analytical and AI-driven solutions.
The role focuses on end-to-end decision systems, including portfolio optimization and credit decisioning frameworks. You will determine the appropriate use of deterministic rules, statistical models, machine learning, and emerging AI-driven (including agentic) capabilities to support responsible, scalable, and compliant lending operations.
You will contribute to the development, validation, and continuous enhancement of analytical models and AI systems, working closely with business, risk, product, and technology stakeholders.

- Govern analytical models by supporting validation, monitoring, and lifecycle management within regulatory frameworks.
You focus on shaping decision systems, balancing innovation with responsibility, and ensuring analytics solutions remain robust, explainable and compliant. In this senior role you also act as a subject matter expert and sparring partner for junior data scientists.

Required Qualifications
- MSc degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Data Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics). A PhD is considered an advantage.
- 7+ years of experience in advanced analytics, quantitative modelling, or data science, preferably within the financial industry.
- Experience developing, validating, and maintaining statistical and machine learning models in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of business lending, credit risk, and decisioning processes.
- Hands-on experience with Python and relevant frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, XGBoost, MLflow).
- Familiarity with AI governance, model risk management, and regulatory standards within financial institutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset and enjoyment of working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Preferred: exposure to Agentic AI architectures, autonomous workflows or AI orchestration frameworks.
