Role overview

Are you passionate about turning Generative AI into real, production-ready solutions that solve meaningful business problems? ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to join our Internal Audit function and help scale AI-driven solutions across the organization.

Based in Stockholm, you will play a key role in building and industrializing AI applications, working with modern technologies such as LLMs, RAG systems, and agent-based architectures. You will join an early-stage team where AI is becoming a core capability, giving you the opportunity to shape how intelligent systems are designed, built, and applied in a global business environment.

What you'll work on

As our AI Engineer, you will focus on building and deploying AI-powered applications, with a strong emphasis on Generative AI and modern AI system architectures. You will take ownership of transforming existing prototypes into robust, production-ready solutions, while contributing to the broader AI capability within the team. Your responsibility will include designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications using LLMs, including RAG pipelines and agent-based systems.

You would also:

  • Take existing AI proof-of-concepts and evolve them into scalable, production-ready solutions, including developing and maintaining backend services and APIs to expose AI capabilities.
  • Build, connect, and manage AI pipelines alongside underlying data pipelines to enable end-to-end intelligent systems.
  • Design, deploy, and operate AI solutions on cloud platforms (primarily Azure, with exposure to AWS where relevant).
  • Implement LLM-based solutions using prompt engineering, context management, and orchestration techniques.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Internal Audit and across the business to translate requirements into practical AI solutions.
  • Contribute to data analysis, modelling, and exploratory work, and support dashboards or visualizations to communicate insights and monitor performance.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Around 3+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI or machine learning solutions, with a focus on delivering real systems in production.
  • Practical experience developing AI applications, ideally including Generative AI (LLMs, RAG, or similar).
  • Strong programming skills (typically in Python) and experience building production-ready solutions (e.g. APIs, backend services, or pipelines).
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Solid understanding of how to connect AI solutions with data pipelines and enterprise data systems.
  • Fluency in English (both spoken and written).

The ideal candidate also brings experience in areas such as agent-based systems or advanced AI architectures, as well as familiarity with LLM techniques like prompt engineering, orchestration, or context management. A background in data science, machine learning, or statistical modelling is considered a strong plus, particularly for use cases such as anomaly detection.

Familiarity with MLOps practices, scalable system design, or data visualization tools is beneficial, as is an academic background in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or similar).
